Summer is generally known to be the season which has the hottest and longest days in a year. The summer nights are usually smaller than those of winter. According to meteorologists, summer extends for the whole months of June, July and August in the northern hemisphere and the whole months of December, January and February in the southern hemisphere.
Spring is one of the four temperate seasons, the transition period between winter and summer. Its days are close to twelve hours long with increasing day length, as it occurs near the time of an equinox. Springtime is a time of growth, renewal and of new life being born.
